A three-game losing streak has the Green Bay Packers hurtling towards the bottom of USA Today’s NFL power rankings.
After losing Sunday to the Denver Broncos, the 2-4 Packers dropped five spots to No. 26 — the lowest ranking of the season for Matt LaFleur’s team — entering Week 8.
Here’s the Packers’ blurb from Nate Davis:
They’ve been outscored 46-6 in the first half during their three-game slide, holes not even finally healthy RB Aaron Jones can be expected to lift a team out of.
The Packers now sit above only six teams: the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers.
For the third time in four losses, the Packers gave up a fourth-quarter lead and were unable to come up with the winning plays on offense late. LaFleur’s team is 1-4 since beating the Bears in the season opener and hasn’t won since Sept. 24, when the Packers needed a fourth-quarter comeback from down 17-0 to the New Orleans Saints.
Next week, the Packers host the No. 19 Minnesota Vikings, who upset the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night in Minneapolis. After a 1-4 start, the Vikings have won back-to-back games without All-Pro Justin Jefferson.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the power rankings entering Week 8.
