It’s full steam ahead to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. With Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl week complete, the NFL Scouting Combine is the next big event on the NFL pre-draft calendar.
On February 27, the NFL universe will converge on Lucas Oil Stadium. With the Spandex Olympics right around the corner and the 2025 NFL Draft only 80 days away, let’s get to mocking.
Here are the results for the Green Bay Packers from my latest two-round mock draft.
23rd overall pick: Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State
By all reports, Thomas had a stellar week down in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. The Florida State cornerback has the tools that NFL teams are looking for with his athleticism and size. He uses his length to choke passing windows and disrupt the catch point. The Seminole cornerback is physical and a willing participant in run support.
In my first mock draft, I had the Packers taking Thomas in the second round. If Gutekunst wants the Florida State cornerback, he’s likely going to have to snag him in the first or make a trade-up early on Day 2.
54th overall pick: JT Tuimoloau, Edge, Ohio State
Standing at 6-4 and weighing 270 pounds, Tuimoloau looks like he was sent from central casting. The Ohio State edge rusher finished the season with 61 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks.
He finished the season on a heater. During the final six games, Tuimoloau recorded 11.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 23 pressures. Tuimoloau rushes the quarterback with power and has heavy hands.
Adding Tuimoloua would give the Packers an NFL-ready edge rusher, who can make disruptive plays against the run and has a knack for putting pressure on the quarterback.
