The 15-player injury report for the Green Bay Packers saw two changes on Friday, when the second of three injury reports was issued ahead of Monday night’s showdown with the New York Giants.
The Packers downgraded left guard Elgton Jenkins from “limited” on Thursday to “did not participate” on Friday, while safety Darnell Savage went from “did not participate” on Thursday to “limited” on Friday.
Jenkins is dealing with a shoulder injury. Savage has a chest injury. Both injuries happened during the Packers’ 27-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night.
Coach Matt LaFleur said the Packers were just being cautious with Jenkins, suggesting he’s preparing to have his starting left guard on Monday night. Savage’s upgrade suggests he’s trending toward playing against the Giants.
A few other things of note from Friday’s injury report: Cornerback Eric Stokes was a full participant for the second straight day. He could be activated to the roster and play against the Giants after missing six games on injured reserve. Also, running back Aaron Jones practiced in a limited capacity once again, giving him a small chance of playing on Monday. He said post-practice that he hopes to get in some team reps Saturday. LaFleur said Jones was progressing but gave no hints on his status for Monday night.
Receiver Christian Watson didn’t practice for the second straight day. He is unlikely to go vs. the Giants after injuring his hamstring last week against the Chiefs. The same goes for linebacker Quay Walker, who is battling a shoulder injury.
The Packers will issue a final injury report with playing status designations (out, doubtful, questionable) on Saturday afternoon.
