The Green Bay Packers listed 11 players on the team’s initial injury report of Week 1, but only one player – receiver Allen Lazard – didn’t practice on Wednesday.
Lazard’s issue – a mystery for the last week – is being described as an ankle injury. Coach Matt LaFleur said he got “stepped on” last week.
While Lazard was a DNP, left tackle David Bakhtiari, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, safety Darnell Savage and tight end Robert Tonyan were all listed as limited on Wednesday – meaning there’s no guarantee they will be available for Sunday’s contest at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Bakhtiari (knee), Jenkins (knee/pec) and Tonyan (knee) are all recovering from previous injuries. Savage injured his hamstring on Family Night in early August.
Jenkins, who unexpectedly missed a practice last week, is dealing with a new pectoral injury, solving another mystery.
Kicker Mason Crosby (knee), linebacker Tipa Galeai (elbow), center Jake Hanson (shoulder), safety Dallin Leavitt (shoulder), offensive tackle Yosh Nijman (knee) and receiver Christian Watson (knee) were all full participants on Wednesday. All six should be on track to play Sunday in the season opener.
The Minnesota Vikings listed only one player on Wednesday’s injury report: defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, who was limited with a biceps injury.
