The Los Angeles Rams won’t have starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is inactive due to a right thumb injury, and the Green Bay Packers won’t have starting linebacker Quay Walker and starting safety Rudy Ford for Sunday’s Week 9 showdown at Lambeau Field.
Brett Rypien will replace Stafford at quarterback for the Rams and make his fourth-ever NFL start.
The Packers will be without four Week 1 starters on defense: Walker, Ford, Rasul Douglas (traded) and Darnell Savage (injured reserve).
Expect Isaiah McDuffie to replace Walker at linebacker next to De’Vondre Campbell. It’s unclear who will play next to Jonathan Owens at safety, but rookie Anthony Johnson Jr. is the most likely candidate. Rookie Carrington Valentine will likely replace Douglas at cornerback.
The Packers made the following players inactive for Sunday:
LB Quay Walker
S Rudy Ford
OLB Brenton Cox Jr.
OT Caleb Jones
WR Samori Toure
Rookie Malik Heath is active over Toure at receiver. Safety Zayne Anderson will make his Packers debut. So will cornerback Robert Rochell.
