Jordan Love is officially inactive for Sunday’s showdown with the Tennessee Titans, so the Green Bay Packers must attempt to win a second consecutive game with Malik Willis — a former Titan — under center.
Love will miss his second game with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Given his practice status during the week and the intensity of his pre-game workout Sunday, it seems like a good bet that Love — who was listed as questionable to play — will return for next Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field.
Willis and the Packers beat the Indianapolis Colts 16-10 last week to avoid an 0-2 start. On Sunday, they’ll face a winless Titans team that is desperate to avoid an 0-3 start.
Sean Clifford, who was elevated from the practice squad, will be the backup behind Willis.
In addition to not having Love, the Packers will also be without cornerback Carrington Valentine, who has an ankle injury, and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan, who re-injured his shoulder last week against the Colts.
Healthy scratches for the Packers include rookie safety Kitan Oladapo and rookie offensive lineman Travis Glover. Defensive lineman Colby Wooden — a fourth-round pick last year — is a healthy scratch for the second straight week. He’s the No. 5 interior defensive lineman on the depth chart.
