The Green Bay Packers hosted a workout for quarterback Jake Fromm on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Quarterbacks for the Packers reported to training camp on Wednesday. The team’s first practice is scheduled for Monday.
The Packers currently have Jordan Love, Sean Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt on the roster at quarterback. If signed, Fromm would be the No. 4 quarterback. General manager Brian Gutekunst has an open roster spot as of Friday.
Fromm was a fifth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in the 2021 draft. Over three games and two starts in the NFL, Fromm completed 25 of 60 passes (45 percent) for 210 yards, one touchdown pass and three interceptions. He made both starts with the New York Giants — who signed him off the Bills practice squad — in 2021.
Fromm spent last season on the practice squad of the Washington Commanders. He was released in May.
Fromm was excellent during the preseason last year, completing 28 of 41 passes for 262 yards, three touchdown passes and one interception while with the Commanders.
Fromm entered the NFL after three seasons as a starter at Georgia. He threw 78 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions over 43 collegiate starts.
Fromm is 6-2 and 215 pounds. He turned 26 years old later this month.
