The Green Bay Packers have lost back-to-back games as big betting favorites over the last two weeks, but oddsmakers are still quite confident in Matt LaFleur’s team on the road in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
Tipico Sportsbook has the Packers positioned as 5.5-point road favorites (as of Wednesday morning) over the Commanders, who will start backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke this week.
(Betting note: -5.5 spread means the Packers would need to win by more than 5.5 points to cover.)
The over/under is 41.5 points.
The Packers are just 2-2 straight up and 1-3 against the spread as the betting favorite this season, including three-straight defeats against the spread. Overall, the Packers are just 2-4 against the spread in 2022.
The Commanders beat the Bears on Thursday night last week and will have the advantage of a few extra days rest entering Sunday.
However, Washington has lost both games as an underdog and lost two other games as an even bet this season.
Last season, with Heinicke under center for most of the year, the Commanders were 7-9-1 against the spread, including a 14-point loss as a 8.5-point underdog against the Packers in Green Bay.
