Packers CB Jaire Alexander not practicing Friday ahead of SNF vs. Seahawks

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was not participating during practice on Friday, the final on-field work before Matt LaFleur’s team goes to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday night in Week 15.

UPDATE: Alexander will be ruled out for Sunday night, per coach Matt LaFleur.

It’s unclear if Alexander suffered a setback with his knee injury or is getting a scheduled day off before Sunday. This post will be updated as more information is known.

Per Mike Spofford of the team’s official site, rookie defensive back Javon Bullard was the other non-participant at practice on Friday. Bullard has missed all three practices this week with an ankle injury suffered last Thursday night in Detroit and is likely out for Sunday against the Seahawks.

Alexander practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday, suggesting a return to the field after missing three games would arrive this week. The two-time All-Pro cornerback first hurt his knee in Week 8 in Jacksonville and then suffered an aggravation of the injury coming out of the bye week in Chicago last month.

LaFleur will address the media following practice on Friday, so more details are incoming.

The Packers will put out a final injury report for Week 15 later on Friday.

Alexander has played only seven games for the Packers this season. He has two interceptions, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

If Alexander is unavailable in Seattle, the Packers would rely on Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes at cornerback against the Seahawks’ receiver trio of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
