The Green Bay Packers returned veteran offensive lineman Michael Jordan to the team’s practice squad on Monday. The corresponding roster move was releasing offensive tackle Spencer Rolland from the practice squad.
Jordan, a fourth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 draft, spent most of the 2023 season on the Packers’ practice squad. The 26-year-old went to New England and appeared in 12 games and made 11 starts — playing 685 snaps on offense — for the Patriots this season. He was released by the Patriots on Dec. 3.
Jordan played almost all of his snaps at left guard for the Patriots. He committed two penalties (one holding, one false start) and allowed three sacks and 23 total pressures while struggling as a run blocker, per Pro Football Focus.
Jordan previously started 19 games for the Cincinnati Bengals and 10 for the Carolina Panthers. He has appeared in 67 career games, playing almost 2,800 snaps at left guard at the NFL level.
If nothing else, Jordan gives the Packers an experienced interior offensive lineman who knows the system and could play in a pinch down the stretch of the 2024 season. He will have three practice squad elevations available.
Jordan originally signed to the Packers practice squad on Sept. 12, 2023. He signed a futures contract with the Patriots on Jan. 24 of this year.
