Packers blowout Cowboys, set up NFC Divisional Round matchup with 49ers

The Green Bay Packers cruised past the Dallas Cowboys during Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Round at AT&T Stadium and will now head to San Francisco to play the top-seeded 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in the NFC Divisional Round next weekend.

The 48-32 win over the Cowboys was the Packers’ first playoff victory since the 2020 season and the team’s first road playoff win since 2016. The 48 points was the most scored by the Packers in the postseason since beating the Atlanta Falcons in 2010.

The Packers took a 7-0 lead on their first drive and led the rest of the way.

Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes and was nearly perfect, Aaron Jones rushed for three scores and produced his fourth straight 100-yard game, Romeo Doubs produced a career-high 151 receiving yards and Darnell Savage had a pick-six.

The Packers led 27-0 on Savage’s interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter and went up 48-16 after Love threw back-to-back touchdowns to Luke Musgrave and Doubs in the second half.

The Cowboys scored a pair of late touchdowns to close the gap, but the game’s outcome was never in question.

The Packers gained 415 yards, averaged 7.7 yards per play, scored touchdowns on all four red-zone trips and delivered two takeaways, including Savage’s defensive touchdown.

Love finished the contest completing 16 of 21 passes for 272 yards, three touchdown passes and zero interceptions. His passer rating was a perfect 158.3 until a late third-down incompletion dropped it to 157.2.

Jones, a Texas native, rushed 21 times for 118 yards and three scores.

The Packers became the first No. 7 seed in NFL history to win a playoff game.

The loss Sunday was the Cowboys’ first at home since Week 1 in 2022, snapping a 16-game win streak.

The Packers have lost four consecutive postseason games to the 49ers, most recently a 13-10 defeat at Lambeau Field during the 2021 season.
