Packers awarded 3 compensatory picks in 2024 NFL draft

The NFL awarded the Green Bay Packers three compensatory draft picks — all on Day 3 — in the 2024 NFL draft.

The Packers were given a compensatory pick in the fifth round, sixth round and seventh round as a result of the unrestricted free agent market last year.

The three added picks:

— No. 168, fifth round
— No. 219, sixth round
— No. 255, seventh round

The Packers lost qualifying free agents Allen Lazard (New York Jets), Jarran Reed (Seattle Seahawks), Dean Lowry (Minnesota Vikings) and Robert Tonyan (Chicago Bears) and didn’t sign any qualifying free agents last year.

The Packers will go into the draft with 11 total picks: five in the first three rounds and six between rounds four and seven.

In total, 14 teams received compensatory picks. The Packers were one of nine teams to receive multiple compensatory picks, including one of six to receive three or more.

Here’s why the Packers didn’t receive a fourth pick, per the NFL: “This year, three clubs, the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Jacksonville Jaguars qualified for a compensatory selection under the net loss formula but will not receive that pick because the final numerical value of the CFA who was lost ranked 33rd or lower among the final numerical values of all compensatory selections.”

The Packers rank third in the NFL in compensatory picks gained since 1994 with 52. Only the Baltimore Ravens (56) and Dallas Cowboys (54) have received more.
