In addition to adding wide receiver Sammy Watkins to the injury report, the Green Bay Packers provided new injury designations for left tackle David Bakhtiari and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt on the Week 7 injury report.
Watkins (hamstring) is questionable to play after coming off of injured reserve on Saturday. So are Bakhtiari, who was originally taken off the final injury report on Friday after practicing all week, and Wyatt, who is now dealing with a new illness.
The added designation for Bakhtiari, who is still coming back from a knee injury, is concerning. Despite playing all but four snaps last week and practicing each day this week, Bakhtiari must truly be considered day to day, and there’s no knowing when his knee is going to act up and put his playing availability in jeopardy. If Bakhtiari can’t play on Sunday, the Packers would go back to Yosh Nijman as the starter at left tackle.
Wyatt, a first-round pick, could be inactive for the second time in seven weeks if he’s not physically capable of playing Sunday.
The Packers already ruled out rookie receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), and the other two players ruled out – receiver Randall Cobb (ankle) and offensive lineman Jake Hanson (biceps) – were placed on injured reserve on Saturday.
Inactives will be announced 90 minutes before the start of Sunday’s showdown at FedEx Field. The Packers may not know the configuration of the offensive line until shortly before kickoff.
