Packers’ Adam Stenavich expected to interview with Texans for open coordinator position

Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich is expected to be in the running for the same job with the Houston Texans, according to reporting from Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 in Houston.

Stenavich, who does not call plays in Green Bay, previously interviewed with the Chicago Bears for their now filled head coaching job and the Seattle Seahawks for their now filled offensive coordinator job.

Per Wilson, Stenavich would be the eighth different candidate to interview with the Texans for their open job. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans fired offensive coordinator and playcaller Bobby Slowick following the 2024 season.

The Packers cannot block an interview for Stenavich because calling plays as an offensive coordinator would be viewed as a promotion. Matt LaFleur calls plays for the Packers now.

Stenavich, a collegiate offensive lineman at Michigan, arrived in Green Bay as the offensive line coach on LaFleur’s coaching staff. He was later promoted to run game coordinator and then to offensive coordinator after Nathaniel Hackett left for a head coaching job in 2022.

Stenavich’s offensive line background could be attractive to a Texans team that saw star quarterback C.J. Stroud get sacked 52 times in 2024.

The Texans lost to the Packers in Green Bay but still won the AFC South with a 10-7 record and then beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round of the playoffs.

Luke Getsy, who returned to the Packers in a senior offensive assistant role, could be the top option at offensive coordinator if Stenavich leaves.
