The Green Bay Packers used 127 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Josh Jacobs, a pair of takeaways from Jeff Hafley’s defense and a late game-winning drive from Malik Willis to overcome the loss of Jordan Love and beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at EverBank Stadium.
The 30-27 victory improved the Packers’ record to 6-2 ahead of next Sunday’s showdown with the Detroit Lions.
Love’s injury status will be in the spotlight, but Willis — who helped the Packers win back-to-back games as a starter earlier this season — delivered more magic on Sunday when he hit Jayden Reed for a 51-yard completion to set up Brandon McManus’ 24-yard field goal as time expired.
The Packers took a 7-0 lead early, led 13-10 at halftime and overcame a 17-13 deficit with back-to-back touchdowns to take a 27-17 lead in the fourth quarter. But the Jaguars scored 10 straight points to tie the game with under two minutes to go, setting the stage for Willis, Reed and McManus to steal the show.
