Pacifica Group acquires South East-based appliance servicing firm Autowash

Household appliance repair specialist Pacifica Group has bought a Kent-based firm.

Sittingbourne-based Autowash Ltd, which provides domestic appliance repairs, sales and servicing and employs 20 people, has become part of the £61m-turnover County Durham operation following an undisclosed deal. The move is part of Pacifica's strategy to create a network of regional repairers and follows the 2022 acquisitions of Service 87 in Guildford, Highland Appliance Services in Inverness and JK Domestics in Liverpool.

Autowash employs a team of 11 engineers working in the Kent area and supports insurance companies with policy covered repairs and has contracts with local councils, letting agents, housing associations and schools as well as supporting local charities.

The firm is also a Euronics centre, meaning it sells a range of home appliances from its high street showroom. Scott Pallister, chief operating officer at Pacifica said: "Autowash is an ideal addition to Pacifica, both in terms of its geographic coverage and the expertise and experience of its long-standing team. It shares our focus on quality customer service and the benefits of repairing over replacing appliances, which is far better for the environment.

"Pacifica would welcome discussions with other business owners in the white goods repair sector with similar high-quality businesses who may wish to join our growing family of companies.”

Nigel Fosbraey from Autowash said: "This is an important new chapter for our business that will build upon the excellent reputation we have built for ourselves with our loyal local and national customers. As part of Pacifica we will continue to deliver the highest levels of service and care, while being able to call on the national infrastructure and resources provided by our new parent company."

Pacifica Group bills itself as the country's largest independent appliance repair provider, tending to 350,000 repairs every year and employing more than 250 engineers. The group partners with a wide range of manufacturers including Zanussi, Electrolux and Miele along with major retailers, such as Argos, Very Group and Buy It Direct. It also works with insurance companies to provide technical service desk, spare parts fulfilment and repair services.
