P.E.I. COVID-19 hospitalizations remain steady, officials report 143 new cases

CHARLOTTETOWN — Prince Edward Island is reporting 143 new cases of COVID-19 today, while hospitalizations remain steady.

Health officials say the new cases are now under investigation and the Island has a total of 1,773 active infections.

Virus-related hospitalizations have held steady at eight patients since Saturday.

Four people are in hospital due to COVID-19, while another four patients were originally admitted for other medical reasons but also tested positive for the disease.

P.E.I. has seen an average of 203 cases of COVID-19 over the last seven days.

The Island has logged a total of 10,399 cases since the onset of the pandemic.
