Ozzy Osbourne marks bat-biting anniversary with plush toy - complete with detachable head

Ozzy Osbourne has marked the anniversary of his famous bat-biting concert with a new toy – complete with a detachable head.

The Black Sabbath rocker commemorated the iconic moment he bit the head off of the winged nocturnal animal at a concert in 1982.

At the time, Osbourne rushed himself to hospital for a rabies shot after chomping down on the animal, which was believed to have been dead when it was thrown on stage by a fan.

Now, 37 years on from the Iowa incident, Osbourne has mocked himself with a new piece of merchandise in the shape of a bat toy with a detachable head.

Sharing the link to the now-sold out listing, the musician wrote: “Today marks the 37th Anniversary since I bit a head off a f****** bat!

“Celebrate with this commemorative plush with detachable head.”

The site’s description promised fans they could “bring the legendary moment in rock history to life” with the $40 (£31) plush.

Last year, the heavy metal rocker announced a series of UK tour dates in February 2019, supported by Judas Priest.

The star – who is married to former X Factor judge Sharon – will start his string of British dates in Nottingham next month before finishing up at London’s O2 Arena weeks later .
