Owner spends £14k on her dogs' wardrobe - and never lets them wear the same thing twice

A woman addicted to spoiling her dogs has revealed she has spent a whopping £14,000 on their wardrobe.

Pampered pooches Sammie, aged five, and Maddie, aged four, have their very own walk-in wardrobe filled with jumpers, dresses and accessories.

Owner Shelia Odden, 46, has bought her parti-yorkies at least 600 items of clothing - but wouldn't dream about letting them wear the same thing twice.

Shelia, from Arizona, US, said: "The dogs are my babies. I love to make sure they look the best at all times.

"They have their own walk-in wardrobe and bedroom but they never sleep in it as they sleep with me.

"They also have multiple strollers and carriers for different occasions. I bring them everywhere with me.

"If we go to a gathering and I know there's photo opportunities; I won't allow them to wear the same thing twice.

"It may sound silly but it is very addictive.

"There's so many cute things out there - sometimes I will 'need' something I have seen another dog wearing on Instagram."

Their clothes range from £7.40 to £63 per piece.

She adds: "I began buying them clothes when my son Zac, now 25, went to university aged 20. Ever since, I have been hooked.

"I think I have spent around £1,400 on hair bows alone. They've got around 30 bandanas for the summer.

"I don't dress them when they're in the house unless it is a cold winter day.

"But as soon as I get their clothes out, they instantly get excited and start wagging their tails.

"Their persona completely changes - it is like they know we are going somewhere and they're going to get fussed."

The fashionable duo are often the centre of attention when they are spotted by strangers.

Sheila, a project manager, said: "Most of the time, they are in a stroller which makes people curious as to what is inside.

"Some people look at me like I am crazy but I think dogs in strollers are more common than they used to be."

Sheila doesn't just buy the clothes but makes them too.

The garments can be found on Etsy by searching for 'Miss Sophie Bowtique'.

She adds: "Their wardrobe is a mixture of handmade clothing by me but I do like to support businesses all over the globe.

"I buy one or two items a week for both of them. Most of their tutus are made by me. I sell clothes to people all over the world which is how I fund their wardrobe."

Sheila keeps on top of their grooming by bathing them every seven to ten days.

The dogs also live off a raw diet which costs £88 per month.

She said: "I learnt how to cut their hair so I do all the grooming myself.

"My dogs are living their best life so it is important for them to have a healthy and balanced diet too."
