Owner 'reluctantly' puts award-winning fish and chip shop up for sale

AN award-winning fish and chips shop in Fife has hit the market as its owner “reluctantly” puts the business up for sale.

The Fish Hoose in Thornton, located midway between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, has gone up on the market for £95,000.

The “well-established, award-winning” business sticks to a “traditional” menu with food prepared fresh to order.

The listing states the restaurant requires “little or no investment” and has the potential to expand its menu to offer kebabs and pizzas.

Previous accolades for The Fish Hoose include being listed in the 2020 Good Food Awards and shortlisted in the 2019 National Fish & Chip Awards.

The business is equipped with a modern high efficiency frying range, a walk- in fridge, walk-in freezer, juice fridge, fish fridge along with many other appliances.

The Fish Hoose has seating for around 20 people in the restaurant and a car park for customers.

According to the Press and Journal, the owner is “reluctantly” selling the popular takeaway so he can focus on his retail business.
