Overwatch 2 Season 2 patch notes: Nerfs and biggest changes

The Overwatch 2 season 2 patch notes are live with the new tank Ramattra, Shambali Monastery map, and a bevy of changes to some of the multiplayer games’ most popular heroes – and those most in need of an upgrade. These include Doomfist and Sojourn, as promised, along with improvements to Ana and Kiriko and some enhancements for Symmetra to make her more viable. The new season also brings with it a new battle pass, more skins, and more challenges to help you get them a bit faster.

Doomfist Buffs

Doomfist struggled with the transition to tank from DPS, and Blizzard is hoping to fix that with a few new changes. Rocket Punch had its damage range increased and got a second knocked off its cooldown timer. Power Block lasts half a second longer and cools down a second faster as well.

Junker Queen nerfs and buffs

Junker Queen was a bit too powerful, Blizzard thought, so they increased her head and torso hit volume size by 12 percent after decreasing the effectiveness of Commanding Shout. However, her passive Adrenaline ability also heals more HP now, and Commanding Shout got a second shaved off its cooldown timer.

Bastion buffs

Blizzard tweaked Bastion’s ultimate ability to make it a bit deadlier. His missiles launch faster now, with less chance for enemies to escape, and Bastion himself will no longer be damaged by their explosions. Reconfigure also got a slight buff in the form of a cooldown timer that’s two seconds shorter.

Sojourn nerfs and buffs

Sojourn’s railgun proved a bit too dangerous at higher levels of play, so Blizzard decided to nerf its secondary fire. It deals less damage and won’t reach as far, meaning you can’t land a one-hit KO on a standard DPS hero anymore. In exchange, Sojourn’s primary fire deals more damage up close, and she charges energy faster during her ultimate.

Symmetra nerfs and buffs

Symmetra is a bit more complicated to play now. Her weapon charges faster, but deals less damage the longer it goes without making contact with foes. Her charged attack consumes 10 ammo, and she also gains ammo from damaging barriers again.

Tracer buffs

Tracer saw one small, but important update: her primary attack deals 6 damage per shot instead of 5 now.

Ana buffs

Ana also only got one small change this time, but it’s a welcome one. Her sleep dart’s cooldown timer is 14 seconds now instead of 15.

Kiriko nerfs and buffs

Blizzard made quite a few adjustments to Kiriko, Overwatch 2‘s newest healer. She now has 15 kunai to hurl instead of 12, and she can cast her Suzu cleansing ability a fraction of a second more quickly.

Her ultimate didn’t fare so well, though. Blizzard thought it made battle too hectic and reduced the movement speed buff from 50 percent to 30 percent. The cooldown rate is double now, instead of triple.

Mercy buffs

Mercy’s ammo capacity is up to 25 from 20, making her the angel of death at your shoulder.
