Overjoyed dad finally meets daughter who was snatched away from him 42 years ago

A heartbroken dad has finally been reunited with his 'baby girl' after she was whisked away from him 42 years ago.

The man - now in his 60s - became a teen dad when he and a woman he was seeing accidentally conceived.

Wanting to give their daughter a better life, the young mum decided to put their baby up for adoption, despite knowing he was completely against this idea.

He ended up burying the truth deep down - and went on with his life not telling a soul about his first born daughter.

That was until a family member of his took an at-home DNA testing kit and discovered an unknown person on their family tree.

Sharing their story on Reddit, his newly discovered son-in-law said: "My wife met her birth father in person.

"Imagine yourself as my wife's birth father, this is your life story up until today...

"Lose your Dad at 13, lose your baby girl at 19, don't tell your family, stay mostly single for your life, have another oops baby at 42, have major 11-hour cancer surgery at 50.

"And then four weeks ago, a younger family member, who'd taken a DNA test through an ancestry site, asks you if you had a secret child.

"You email back and forth and eventually decide to meet. Finally - you got your baby girl back! And you get to give her the biggest hug.

"Her birth dad gained a daughter and two grandkids that he didn't even comprehend he had.

"He'd always thought of the baby he had to give up for adoption and that she'd obviously grown, but not that she might have kids."

Commenting on his post, one user said: "This is beautiful . There are good things in this world."

Another user added: "I hope everything goes well for you! My grandfather found out he had a 65 year old daughter at 85 and it just seems so lucky that they got to find each other."

A third user said: "That’s fantastic. Sounds like an incredible day. Congrats to all!"
