A KIWI invasion is headed for the Newcastle CBD this summer.
New two-day festival Over The Ditch is coming to The Station on February 22 and 23, 2025, for a celebration of reggae and electronica.
New Zealand reggae and soul-pop act L.A.B will headline day two of the festival, which features an all-Kiwi line-up of roots-reggae six-piece Katchafire, indie-reggae band Coterie, dub outfit Kora and electronic acts South Summit and Tunes of I.
The appearance at Over The Ditch will be L.A.B's only regional show of their upcoming Australian tour in support their latest album IV.
Day one of Over The Ditch will feature an all-Australian line-up that will be announced at a later date.
The event is the second small festival scheduled for The Station as part of Earp Distilling's activation of the former heavy railway site.
On December 21 and 22 the first Portside Festival is scheduled for The Station and will feature modern indie acts like Hockey Dad, San Cisco and Vacations on day one, followed by '90s and 2000s stars The Living End, Eskimo Joe, Birds of Tokyo and Killing Heidi on the Sunday.
Earp Distilling Co. operation manager Cameron Burns says Portside and Over The Ditch are part of a long-term commitment to bring music events to The Station.
"The other offerings moving forward is a big part of it too. There will be different styles and genres, so we're trying to appeal to different demographics as well," Burns said.
Pre-sale tickets are available from Wednesday at 12pm and general tickets are released on Thursday at noon.
