A Nottingham GP surgery said it is 'over capacity' and are only able to help with emergencies. The Wellspring Surgery on Livingstone Road, in St Ann's, has advised patients to seek help at their the local walk-in centre, local pharmacy or other providers as they are dealing with a 'high volume of calls'.
The GP surgery took to social media and warned their patients on Monday, December 5. They said that support is available to patients, through signposting advice.
The Wellspring Surgery said it is facing a high volume of calls and requests from patients. A tweet on the surgery's social media page, posted shortly before 10am, reads: "Due to the high volume of calls and requests today we are over our capacity and are only able to help with emergency issues."

It continued: "All patients will be supported with signposting advice, and where appropriate directions to the local walk-in centre, local pharmacy or other providers." The surgery declined to comment when approached by Nottinghamshire Live.
Dr Irfan Malik, a senior partner at Elmswood Surgery in Sherwood, has retweeted the post, adding: "Nottingham GP Surgery has declared they are over capacity." Commenting, an user, @q_horology, has replied adding: "Good on them, we are not a bottomless pit, we have a certain amount of resources available, anything over is just not safe."
In a statement, the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire said: "NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire is aware that patients who are registered with the Wellspring Surgery in St Ann's may be experiencing difficulties getting in touch with the practice today.
"Patients should note that urgent appointments are being prioritised and the phone lines for the surgery remain open. Pre-booked routine appointments are still taking place as well as home visits."
NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire continues to work with practices to provide support to help them improve access to appointments for our citizens.
