A large cannabis factory with more than 300 plants has been found in a flooded home in Nottingham. The operation was uncovered by police when they raided the property in Bilborough on Sunday, May 14.
The class B drug was found growing in the loft and buildings. Officers were alerted by a neighbour who had noticed a water leak spreading into her own property.
When they went to investigate, officers forced entry to the house and discovered it was flooded and severely water-damaged. The roof in the kitchen had collapsed because of the leak, which originated in the upstairs bathroom, and the electricity supply had been bypassed.

Severn Trent engineers have now turned off the water supply and Western Power attended to switch off the power. Police Constable Gina Northwood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The condition we found this house in demonstrates very clearly the hazards involved whenever cannabis is produced in residential areas like this.
“The property was completely flooded and water-damaged, and the thought of tampering with the electricity supply in such conditions is alarming. It shatters once again the myth that grows like this are harmless and cannabis production is a victimless crime."
