The United Nations Children's Agency has reported that at least 120 Palestinian children have lost their lives in Gaza over the past 15 days. The situation in Gaza remains dire as violence continues to escalate.
One of the recent tragic incidents involved an Israeli attack in Deir Al Balah that resulted in the deaths of 12 family members, including the wife and four children of a prominent relief worker, Raafat Salha. Salha, who is the director of the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), sustained critical injuries and had to undergo an amputation.
In response to inquiries about the strike on Salha's home, the Israeli military stated that they targeted a member of the Islamic Jihad's military intelligence unit who was allegedly operating in a Humanitarian Area in Deir al Balah.
Another devastating airstrike occurred at the Al-Farabi School in Gaza City, where at least seven individuals, who were seeking shelter, lost their lives. Additionally, reports from Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital indicated that several people were killed in Al Bureij, a refugee camp in central Gaza, following airstrikes in the area.
The Israeli military confirmed that they had targeted a 'terrorist' inside a command-and-control center, which had previously functioned as a school. They also disclosed that more than 50 targets in Gaza had been struck in the past day.
Local authorities in Gaza reported that on Tuesday alone, at least 54 individuals were killed in the region due to the ongoing violence. Furthermore, Israeli military officials issued a warning to residents of a neighborhood in Jabalya, northern Gaza, advising them to evacuate as a precaution against potential attacks by 'terrorist organizations' launching rockets from the area.
