Since the collapse of the Assad regime, more than 1.1 million people have been displaced across Syria, as reported by the United Nations. The situation remains dire, with tens of thousands of displaced individuals seeking refuge in approximately 200 centers in northeast Syria. Aid organizations are actively providing essential supplies such as food, cash, and hygiene kits to those in need.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) highlighted the challenges faced by the displaced population, including widespread food shortages in Aleppo, the country's second-largest city. Additionally, high fuel prices are compounding the difficulties for the affected communities. The ongoing fighting in the vicinity has disrupted access to water and led to power outages, impacting over 400,000 individuals in the area since Tuesday.

Efforts are underway to address the humanitarian crisis, with the UN and its partners mobilizing resources to deliver aid to the affected regions. A recent update from UNOCHA mentioned that 26 trucks carrying food aid successfully crossed from Turkey into northwest Syria on Wednesday. However, the delivery of aid continues to face challenges due to checkpoints, security concerns, and reports of looting in the region.

The situation in Syria underscores the urgent need for sustained humanitarian assistance to support the displaced population and mitigate the impact of the ongoing crisis. The UN and aid organizations are working tirelessly to provide relief to those affected by the conflict, but more support is needed to address the complex challenges facing the country.
