Outlander star Scott Kyle can't wait to get back to having a fling again - and he's been helped by support from his old pals.
The Rutherglen actor has regularly held Scottish Flings for fans of the show, both in Scotland and in North America.
However coronavirus wrecked havoc with the events, meaning he could only hold one local bash at short notice last year, and without the travelling number of fans that usually come over to visit.
Thankfully for Scott, who plays Ross in the smash hit show, some additional support helped him out.
He told Lanarkshire Live : "With COVID we had to cancel the usual flings over the past couple of years - they're usually in America and Canada, as well as over here.
"We managed to put one on in Scotland with about six weeks notice, which was because the rules and regulations kept varying - we didn't know if we'd be allowed to have it or not.
"The problem was that we couldn't have any of the visitors we usually have, which makes up a good part of the audience. But Tony Oliver, who runs Dylton's Locksmith on the Main Street (in Rutherglen) offered to book a table to help us out.
"We started selling tables, rather than just individual tickets, and that helped us make the fling a success. Now we're launching the 2022 events and we'll be back to Florida and Ontario, before the Glasgow one in September."
It's not the first time Scott's had support from his fellow Rutherglen folk. Around 15 years ago pal Paul Haggerty provided a van and much needed sponsorship to help the then fledgling actor tour around.
He added: "It's funny - back then I was helped out by a local pal, and even now it's happened again. It means a lot to get support like that."
Scott's currently busy, both with acting projects and with the release of his autobiography, looking at going from growing up in Rutherglen to his prolific acting career, both on stage and screen.
However the Fling events, which provide several hours of entertainment including a buffet and a ceilidh, are among his favourite dates on the calendar.
He enthused: "This has all came about because of other people giving me a nudge.
"Over the years I heard a lot from Outlander fans asking where to go if they visited Scotland, things to do etc. So I decided that it'd be good to combine it into one thing, and have an actual event.
"The day after the Fling we even have a 'hangover' tour, going round Glasgow on the buses. It's great to meet so many fans and show them around Glasgow.
"Last year we were all desperate to have a great time after the year that we'd had with COVID. We had Highland dancers, a pipe band and things like that - this year will be great to welcome back international fans to it."
