Sam Heughan has opened up about his new memoir 'Waypoints' and told fans he wants to take them on a personal journey of his life.
'Waypoints' will be published by Radar and will follow Sam as he makes his way along the West Highland Way to reflect on the personal waypoints that define him.
Sharing a snap from his journey on Instagram, Sam wrote: "Ready to come on this journey with me?
"I wanted to write a memoir with a difference. Waypoints takes you on a personal journey through my life, whilst I walk 100miles through the Highlands of Scotland. Excited and nervous. I can’t wait to share with you my new adventure!"
And fans expressed their excitement for the brand new memoir.
One said: "I am really looking forward to this book."
Another wrote: "Looking forward to reading it, a memoir with a difference."
Whilst one commented: "Gorgeous place...can't wait to walk there one day and can't wait to read your story."
On the journey, Sam hikes 100miles from his home to the base of the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, and “attempts” to climb it.
Fitness fanatic Sam is no stranger to a challenge and is looking forward to sharing this new adventure with his followers.
He added: “Waypoints is a memoir with a difference. I wanted to tell the stories and share the experiences that have shaped me, but to do that I needed to challenge myself and spend some time in my own company, away from the distractions of everyday life. And for me there’s no better place to reflect than in the wild Scottish Highlands.”
Back in June last year, the Outlander actor and his co-star Graham McTavish announced a follow-up to their incredibly popular Clandlands book.
The book, the Clanlands Almanac, much like their first book, follows their adventures around Scotland.
The two Scottish actors wrote their original piece as a companion to hit show Men in Kilts during the first lockdown, after they were forced to take a break in filming.
