Outlander's Sam Heughan sends Graham McTavish birthday wishes and teases exciting news

Outlander's Sam Heughan took to Instagram to wish his co-star Graham McTavish a happy birthday by sharing a sweet selfie of the pair and teased that they could be back on our screens sooner than we think.

The duo, who star in the hit show but also are the faces of their own show 'Men In Kilts ', are the best of pals and even have two books out together, Clanlands and Clanlands The Almanac.

And as Graham, who plays Dougal MacKenzie in the show, turned 62, Sam posted a lovely photo of them both as he wished him a great day - while hinting that brand new Men In Kilts is coming soon.

He wrote: "A very Happy Birthday to the mighty Bearded One @grahammctavish!!! Have a great birthday buddy, can’t wait to celebrate with you (may even buy you a latte)… @meninkiltsstarz coming soon!"

And fans flocked to the comments to talk about the cheeky mention of a new series of the show.

One wrote: "Happy birthday! Can’t wait for the next #meninkilts."

While one added: "May you have the happiest birthday @grahammctavish! We miss you on twitter! MIK2 WIL NEVER EVER COME TOO SOON!!!"

Another penned: "Lots of love to both of you. Can't wait for MiK!!!"

Back in April last year, Sam told his fans that production had finished cutting the first episode of season two, telling fans they will 'love this season'.

The upcoming season, which officially wrapped almost a year ago, will document their journey across New Zealand, a country that was a popular destination for Scottish immigrants to settle back in the 19th century.

Season 2 will follow Sam and Graham as they explore the Scottish influence of New Zealand across eight episodes.

Sam gave a teaser to Forbes Magazine about what's in store for season two: "We were exploring the culture of New Zealand, the Scottish heritage, like there’s the connection there with the immigrants.

"And then, we were looking at the food and drink, we’re looking at the activities you can do.

"It’s very much an outdoors country, the wildlife. And of course, lots of torturing Graham."
