Outlander star Sam Heughan reckons his friendship with co-star Caitriona Balfe is "much like" This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The Scots actor was appearing on the ITV show today as he prepares for the upcoming and much-anticipated launch of Outlander Season 6.
The Jamie Fraser hunk told the presenting duo he is "so excited" about tonight's premiere of the hit Starz show in London, as he discussed his life on and off set.
And when asked about his friendship with Irish star Caitriona, who he has been working with since the first series eight years ago, Sam said: "We were both very green, we didn't really know where this was going to go.
"And here we are, it'll be a decade by the time (the next season is out).
"We have a great friendship, much like yourselves, we're like a couple who have grown up together."
Phil talked about how the pair have both seen their careers skyrocket in recent years.
New mum Caitriona is currently starring in acclaimed Kenneth Branagh movie Belfast while busy Sam has Text 4 U with Celine Dion and Priyanka Chopra coming out soon, who he described as "one of the most beautiful and amazing people" he'd ever worked with.
Dumfries-born Sam is also set to feature in a channel 4 crime series with James Nesbitt.
Speaking about the long-awaited launch of Outlander season six, Sam said the cast and crew had faced a lot of challenges since series five.
They had the coronavirus pandemic to contend with, as well as Scottish weather problems when filming.
Sam, 41, said: "I love this build up.
"We've had so much work to do, so many hurdles so this is so exciting.
"There's lots coming up, it's great escapism, which I think we all need just now.
"The War of Independence is looming, the troublesome Christies are breaking the peace in Frasers Ridge and Claire is suffering, Jamie has also been instructed to work for the Crown."
Outlander series six kicks off on March 6 but the world premiere will take place in London tonight - and Sam can't wait.
He added: "It's the first time we've had a premiere, I'm so excited. I love the anticipation."
Sam, who recently wrapped up filming for Men in Kilts season two in New Zealand, also had a couple of bottles of his Sassenach Whisky on hand to cheer up Holly and Phil.
The light-hearted interview had some somber moments at points as it followed an ITV news bulletin about the unfolding Ukraine crisis.
Holly and Phil vowed to keep things upbeat and carry on, with them both chiming in: "Like we always do".
As Phil said "let's talk whisky" the trio looked pensive and Sam replied: "Let's, I think we all need a wee dram at the moment."
The Outlander season six premiere is being held in London on February 24, before hitting streaming platform Starz on Sunday 6 March 2022.
