Outlander's Sam Heughan has spoken about a potential spin-off of the show and said he is 'slightly jealous of it'.
Actor Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in the Starz time travelling drama, addressed rumours of a spin off series - with Variety claiming a prequel spin-off is reportedly in the works.
Showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts is going to produce and write for the new series, reports have suggested.
Sam spoke to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and confirmed that a spin off was a serious prospect.
He said: “I knew it was in the wings, I knew that was happening. I didn’t realise it was so far advanced. I saw Diana this weekend, and she was writing furiously.”
Sam also said he'd love to appear on the show, which may be a prequel about the lives of his parents, Brian and Ellen Fraser.
Sam said: “I know they’re really excited, I’m excited for them, and I’m slightly jealous as well.
“I wonder if I can get in there.”
