Outlander’s Malva Christie thanks fans for despising character following shock exit

Sunday night's episode of Outlander definitely had a dramatic ending which saw a pregnant Malva Christie brutally murdered on the Ridge.

During episode six, Claire was in her garden when she discovered young Malva's body with a gash across her neck and when she realised she was dead, she cut her stomach open in an attempt to keep her unborn baby alive.

However, she appeared to be unsuccessful and viewers were left with their jaws on the floor, of course, with so many unanswered questions.

Who is the father? Who killed Malva? Why was she killed?

Despite not being a very well liked character on the ridge, actress Jessica Reynolds, who plays Malva, took to Twitter to thank Outlander fans for supporting her during her short stint on the show.

She wrote: "The response to ep 6 has been overwhelming ! I’ve never seen a fandom like it.

"Thank you for loving (& despising) my troubled wee Malva. What a journey. Love love love to you all thank you @Outlander_STARZ."

And many fans flocked to the comments, demanding answers.

One wrote: "I need to know NOW who killed Malva!!! Somebody who read the books DM me please!!!!"

While others applauded Jessica for her portrayal of Malva.

One said: "Just as books expand the thoughts that can't always come through on screen, you've brought the body language and facial expressions sometimes too tedious to describe in words.

"The first time I saw you, I said THAT'S what Malva looks like. Bravo to you, and your future career."

Another added: "I’m so disappointed that we won’t be able to watch your character unfold even more in Outlander.

"You did a wonderful job with Malva and they could have done so much with your acting ability. Great job you will be missed."

While one wrote: "You play the part beautifully! Your looks are so demure and of pure innocence, you hide the evil well. I haven’t read the books but I feel so sorry for Malva.

"But then with a father and brother like you have it would be hard to not to know hate. Kudos to you."

Outlander continues on Sunday on STARZ PLAY.
