Outlander fans have been sharing their disbelief after noticing an emotional plotline was dropped from season six of the show.
While viewers impatiently await the release of season seven, many have taken the opportunity to dive in to the original book series, written by author Diana Gabaldon.
As a result, many fans have noticed a big plotline has been cut from the TV show, which has left some people 'mad' and 'balling their eyes out'.
In the book, adoptive cousins Ian Fraser and Brianna Mackenzie are much closer than they are on the show.
On paper, the pair embark on a joint expedition to find woolly mammoth bones during which Ian tells Brianna about his spell with the Mohawk tribe and having to leave his wife Emily.
In the TV show, this is changed to a conversation between Ian and Jamie.
Fans are unhappy with their discovery and have been sharing their thoughts online.
Taking to Reddit, one person wrote: "So this isn’t meant to be the typical rant about how awful season 6 is. (However, compared to the books it did kinda suck).
"But I’m on chapter 70, almost 900 pages in, reading the mammoth chapter with Ian and Bree. And oh my god so many tears. Why didn’t they put this in the show?!"
They added: "It was such a good moment between them. It made me ball my eyes out. I'm kinda mad they left this out.
"Even if they'd left the mammoth out they could’ve had the conversation."
Another person commented: "It still makes me kinda sad that Bree didn’t get the chance to comfort him the way she did in the books."
"I know the show doesn't have a lot of time, but I do miss that close cousin relationship between Bree and Ian on the show," added a third fan.
Others welcomed the change, with one person writing: "I liked this change in the show. It was a good bonding moment for Bree and in in the book, but she couldn’t really empathize with him the way Jamie could."
Another fan said: "I preferred the change to Jamie and Ian. I have more of an emotional connection w/ mentions of Faith than Frank. The less Frank the better."
Someone else agreed: "Nah, that book plot is wild and far-fetched. The show version with Jamie comforting Ian and telling him about Faith is much more natural."
