Who?

Ousmane Dembele.

Where?

Anfield Central.

What?

Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to sign Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

The French international, who joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for €145m in 2017, is set to leave the Catalan club once his contract expires at the end of June. Spanish newspaper Sport reported earlier this week that the Reds have made an approach to sign Dembele. Another Spanish source, Nacional, also reported that Barcelona manager Xavi is desperate to keep the Frenchman at the club and has made a last ditch attempt to retain the forward who doesn’t want to stay at the Camp Nou.

Anfield Central is now reporting that the Reds are preparing to pay Dembele around £200,000 a week, which would make him one of the club’s top earners.

However, they are one of a number of clubs chasing his signature and are likely to face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, PSG and Chelsea, although Dembele is reportedly keen to play in the Premier League.

According to Four Four Two, Liverpool tried to bring Dembele to Anfield back in 2016, but he chose Dortmund, and now they are attempting to sign him again as they look to restock their forward options.

Who?

Gavi.

Where?

La Republica.

What?

Barcelona’s promising Spanish midfielder Gavi is reportedly delaying signing a new contract at the Camp Nou in light of interest from numerous European clubs, including Liverpool.

Italian newspaper La Repubblica say that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is desperate to see the young star pen a new deal after an impressive breakout year for the Spanish club.

Further reports from Spanish source Sport add that Liverpool are willing to pay Gavi’s £43m release clause and offer him a much higher salary. The midfielder has also won seven caps for Spain and has received glowing praise from across the footballing world.

This includes Barcelona legend Dani Alves, currently in his second spell at the club. In April, speaking about Gavi’s impressive impact, he said: “Despite following Barca, I didn’t know him. He is a player with incredible quality who, moreover, has that point of competitive madness. He is more aggressive than Pedri. Without wanting to fire off too many rockets, I think that they are two players who can mark an era like Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta.”

If he were to sign, Gavi would be another young talent to add to the impressive stock at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp continues to build for the future after extending his stay at the club until 2026 in April.

Who?

Christian Pulisic.

Where?

Daily Mail.

What?

American international Christian Pulisic is a reported target for Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail. The Chelsea attacker has attracted interest from Anfield as speculation continues surrounding the futures of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Pulisic, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or winger, and even played at wing-back last season, has apparently grown ‘frustrated by his lack of starts under Thomas Tuchel’ - he would be receptive to the move.

The American is also attracting interest from Juventus and AC Milan and Klopp previously described Pulisic as ‘really skilled’ back in January 2019. However, a sizable fee would be required for his signature after Chelsea paid £58m for Pulisic when they signed him from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019.
