Ousmane Dembele's Chelsea transfer could trigger domino effect to help Arsenal land £60m star

Chelsea and Arsenal are set for busy summer transfer windows as both London clubs look to overhaul their squads ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Both teams are eyeing attacking reinforcements. With the Gunners returning to European football, Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster the depth of his options while Thomas Tuchel is eyeing upgrades to a frontline that once again underwhelmed.

Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner could all be on their way out of west London this season with a number of Europe's finest clubs linked with the trio. As a result, a number of big names have been linked with moves with Ousmane Dembele the most frequently mentioned.

In north London, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is set to sign for the Gunners while they remain interested in bringing Leeds winger Raphinha to the Emirates as well. A lot of money could well be splashed in the capital then but the business of the clubs could impact one another.

A report from CBS journalist Ben Jacobs on Sunday night detailed the latest on the chase for Raphinha. He said that reports Arsenal had pulled out of a deal for Raphinha were false and that they remained interested in signing the ace Leeds value at £60 million this summer.

But the Brazilian still sees Barcelona as his dream move but the financial situation at the Nou Camp is currently making that particular deal unlikely due to the stricter spending rules imposed by La Liga. As things stand, Arsenal have a much clearer run in trying to convince Raphinha to move to north London, but Chelsea could change that.

Jacobs also reports that were Dembele to leave the Camp Nou this summer it could free up the necessary space in the budget to complete a deal for the 25-year-old. The Blues have been interested in signing the winger since January and are not likely to give up any time soon, potentially scuppering Arsenal's plans in the process.
