Sunderland fans have been quick to flock to Twitter after some dramatic late scenes in the U21s Tyne-Wear derby. With the Black Cats 1-0 down in the final minute of stoppage time, goalkeeper Alex Bass decided to make his way forward into the box in search of a late leveller.
And that is exactly what he did as at the second attempt, Bass found the net to incredibly earn Sunderland a point. Bass had initially hit the post with a header but after a scramble inside the area, the ball came back off Bass and went into the net.
Joe White had given Newcastle a lead just after the half hour mark and after holding the lead for over 60 minutes, it was 'keeper Bass who was on hand to earn a point. Here is how Sunderland fans have reacted.
