Some awful news broke this morning as the husband of Paul O'Grady confirmed the beloved presenter, comedian, former-drag queen and dog lover's died "unexpectedly but peacefully" last night.
I remember him from watching the Paul O'Grady show in the noughties when I was a kid, a friend's mum would often have it on when I went over and I'd hear his voice echoing throughout the house. Then years later my mum took to For the Love of Dogs, so I'd watch that with her when I was back from university and she'd have it on.

He became a household name in the early noughties, but Paul was well-known long before that for his drag queen alter ego Lily Savage and would tour Northern England as part of The Playgirls drag duo before setting up a solo show as Savage at London's Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
