Yes, yes, there might be some excitement about the new trains, but I am here to tell you about the amazing weekend stories you might have missed.
The city came alive this weekend and people braved the January chill to watch the Chinese New Year celebration in the heart of the city centre. It was a stunning spectacle as we ushered in the Year of the Rabbit.
If you were busy outside in the crowds or just trying to stay warm, there is a chance you might not have seen some of our amazing content over Saturday and Sunday. I have the great privilege of working with all our reporters as we pull together a wide variety of content for you covering a huge wealth of topics.

Here are just a few of my favourites from this weekend:
Memories full of joy
Our nostalgia reporter, Jess Molyneux, spoke to Henry Chiu from the North Garden Restaurant as part of our How It Used To Be series about growing up in Liverpool. Henry spoke fondly about customers of the restaurant helping him with his homework and happy memories when all his family would gather and pinch his cheeks. If you want a story to soothe your soul on a cold Monday, this is it.
Olivia's corner shops
We also started a new project focusing on corner shops and convenience stores. They are often at the heart of a community and many offer much more than just basic necessities, many have provided a friendly face in the darkness of a global pandemic and now a cost of living crisis.
The first to be featured is Divyesh Patel who runs the Tower Stores in New Brighton, Wirral. He spoke about how he helps his customers spread the cost of their food and how the store helps children in the local school. If you want us to feature a shop in future stories, email olivia.williams@reachplc.com
The future of Radio Merseyside
We also looked at the future of Radio Merseyside following proposals from the BBC to scale back some of the coverage moving to a shared output across regionals after 2pm. Our politics editor Liam Thorp spoke to radio veterans Roger Phillips and Mick Ord about the proposals who called it "cultural vandalism".

And finally...
Ever wanted to just ditch your life and go and live on a boat? Well, we have a story about a couple that did just that. Ellie Jones and Harry Barker estimate they'll save up to £1,000 a month living on a narrowboat as they travel around the country on weekends. You can read all about their idyllic way of life here.
