Our Liverpool: City mourns tireless Hillsborough campaigner

Hello and welcome to Our Liverpool.

The death of a tireless campaigner and former ECHO journalist who worked selflessly on behalf of the families and survivors of the Hillsborough disaster has touched the city today. Dan Kay, 45, was a champion for social justice throughout his life.

Sara Williams, daughter of Anne Williams whose son died at Hillsborough, and with whom Dan co-wrote Hope in Her Heart, called him her "best friend" and said she had become a part of the family for his support

Leading the tributes, his uncle Steven Waldman, said: "I doubt there is a more decent person than Daniel." You can find tributes from all over the city and further afield to Dan, who touched so many, here.

Seven dangerous men all women should avoid

Last week ECHO readers were disgusted after hearing the story of Daniel Little, who subjected his ex-partner and the mother of his child to a six hour attack that included pinning his victim against the fridge freezer by her throat and throwing her against the kitchen units. Rosie Frankish wanted to share her story so "every woman out there" knows his face and what he is capable of.

Little is just one of seven men who should be known by all as a danger to women.

We've already seen the reunion of perhaps Liverpool's greatest band after the Beatles, but with almost a full week left of celebrations who knows what else we'll be treated to.
