Our Liverpool: Big Brother's 'call out' to Liverpool and Mowgli's 'expansion plans'

Good morning and welcome to Tuesday's instalment of Our Liverpool, which shines the spotlight on the best ECHO content.

As we bid farewell to January and prepare to usher in a new month, here's a closer look at what some of our reporters have been up to and some of the big stories that have proved popular in the last 24 hours.

More money for Mowgli

The Scouse success story led by Nisha Katona has received a further boost. The Ormskirk-born former barrister opened the first Mowgli in Liverpool city centre in 2014 and now oversees a network of restaurants. The business is eyeing further growth after securing backing from TriSpan.

Big Brother seeks Scousers

The iconic show is set to return to screens in autumn and producers have put out a call for Scousers to send in their audition tapes. If you think you could follow in Craig Phillips' footsteps then get to work! News of the show's revival was revealed in summer, with a brand new house, host and home on ITV2.

Tram troubles

Over the weekend reporters Dan Haygarth and Liam Thorp took a closer look on why Liverpool doesn't have a tram network. In 2001, plans for a Merseytram project were put forward but things soon fell apart. Read the full story here.

Dyche (finally) confirmed

Our sports reporters have had their work cut out for them in recent weeks thanks to the turmoil at Goodison Park. As Anthony Gordon bid us farewell, the club finally confirmed our new manager. Communication from the club has been dire to say the least, so let's hope this steadies the ship for the remainder of the season at least.

The long-awaited announcement that Sean Dyche is the new Everton boss was made yesterday afternoon (PA)
