The final episode of ITV drama Our House starring Martin Compston concluded on Thursday evening - and pending questions were finally answered as the tension came to a head.
Rolling it back to episode one, all of the drama began when Bram (Martin Compston) decided to cheat on wife Fi Lawson (Tuppence Middleton) with a family friend, leading to a breakdown in their relationship.
Since then, a sale of their home, frauds and loans have resulted in Bram having to run from his enemies as he fears the blame of a drunk driving accident, and Fi is backed into a corner by a blackmailer in the guise of friend Toby/Mike (Rupert Penry-Jones).

So, what happened in the final episode, where all hope seemed lost? Find out more below.
What happened to Fi and Bram?
Fi gets her own revenge - but not on who you think
During the entirety of the series, Bram has been chased by his past mistakes. From one act of adultery, to a drunken drive that may have caused the death of a child, Bram has seriously created his own diabolical mistakes.
Menacing Toby, and his accomplice Wendy (Buket Komour), have had Bram at their mercy for the majority of the series, blackmailing him into coming up with serious cash to pay them back for keeping his secret.
However, in episode four Bram goes on the run, which leaves Toby more or less powerless without his puppet at his control. And that's when he turns on Fi, his then-girlfriend.
Fi, who knows Toby as Mike, now works out the clues and figures out what Toby is up to, meaning she may well have the upper hand. However, when Fi texts Toby from Bram's phone to trick him into a false sense of security, it all goes south.

Toby turns up and Fi makes up a story about how she is on his side and wants to get revenge on her cheating husband. He goes along with the lie, and as she is explaining herself, she pours them some wine - except Toby's glass is full of anti-depressants and sleeping tablets.
Once Toby realises what Fi has done, a fight ensues, and Fi struggles away from her attacker, jabbing him in the face with the stiletto from her shoe and hides in the bathroom.
Fi comes out to Toby covered in his own vomit, stone-dead on the floor, and realises she got what she wanted in the end - or has she?
An accomplice to cover up the murder
As Fi begins to call 999, she backs out and decides to call neighbour and friend Merle (Weruche Opia) for help to deal with the body.
Due to the tablets in Toby's system, Fi knows what she has done will not be in self-defense, but pre-meditated, and she didn't want to leave her children alone in the world.
Merle devises a plan that Fi would have to pretend she had never met 'Mike' before - meaning they'd need to lie to police that Toby and Mike were different people altogether.
Where is Bram?
As Fi shakily returned back to her home to see her boys, she began to see a light at the end of the tunnel - hopefully the police could retrieve some of the money stolen from her, and she could move on with her life.
And that's when the doorbell rang.
A detective turned up with a voice recording from Bram - which turned out to be a confession to his crimes, and a tearful goodbye to his family, as he seemed intent on taking his life.
His heartbroken wife listened on in shock as he admitted to the crash, the death of the child, Toby/Mike's blackmail and involvement in his life, and finally how he felt Fi was innocent of all of this.
The not-so-innocent Fi realised that this recording tied her to the death of Toby/Mike, and she became the number one suspect of his death.
So, what happened to Fi?
In the closing scenes, Fi could be seen getting taken away in a police car, with the same longing look on her face looking back at the house, that she had had in episode one when Bram brought her there initially.
While the ending was somewhat ambiguous to Fi's arrest and sentencing, it could well be assumed that any hope of a new life with her boys was behind her, as she is indeed guilty of another person's death.
How similar is the series to the original book it was based on?
The ending of Our House as a television show stays accurate to the book written by Louise Candlish, of the same title.
There are small differences that only the factual experts among us can spot - like the age of the little girl in the book who dies in the accident is different - she is 10, but in the TV show she is eight-years-old.
One obvious difference is the fact that Bram actually wrote his confession, and suicide note in a letter instead of recording his voice - but again, a voice memo works much better in a television series than a hand-written letter.
Scottish actor Martin Compston wasn't kidding when he said the show would take a "dark" turn in the final episode!
You can re-watch the entire Our House series on the ITV Hub from the beginning, which will be available until June 10, 2022.
