Our Girl viewers in tears over emotional flashbacks of dead character Elvis

Our Girl fans were left very emotional on Tuesday night, as the series returned with flashbacks of late character Elvis Harte.

Elvis, played by actor Luke Pasqualino, was killed off in distressing scenes in 2018 after a device exploded next to him.

He and Georgie, played by Michelle Keegan, had finally reunited and were engaged to be married.

But the love of her life was taken away from her on duty, and while the show has returned since then the death continues to be a focal point of the BBC drama.

As season four picked up on Tuesday night, it was clear Georgie was struggling.

It was her sister Marie's wedding day to Private Fingers, with Georgie there to ensure the day ran smoothly.

But everything reminded her of Elvis, with flashbacks soon shown of the tragic character.

From moments of them together and his horrifying death, the scenes kept playing in Georgie's mind - and then a song that reminded her of him played at the wedding too.

Even though it's been a while since the death aired, viewers still aren't quite over it.

Georgie did her best to carry on before waking up from a nightmare about the moment Elvis was killed.

Watching at home, viewers shared their own upset and admitted the scenes had left them teary.

Another said: "Crying over the flashbacks of Elvis and now no Captain James,"

A third added: "OMG all these Elvis flashbacks and playing there song I’m gonna cry, already obsessed with this series."

Our Girl airs Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.
