The NBA’s 2024 trade deadline is upon us, with the ability to move players between ball clubs in the league going away for teams still in the title hunt mathematically or otherwise. And with the arrival of said deadline, we may well see the Boston Celtics make additional moves after having traded for Memphis Grizzlies back up big man Xavier Tillman, Sr.
Word on the street is that Boston’s front office plans to stay active on the trade front. Armed with a $6.2 million traded player exception (TPE) left over from the Grant Williams sign-and-trade to the Dallas Mavericks, there are plenty of players who may still be had by the Celtics with the right offer.
These are our favorites still on the board.

Naji Marshall - New Orleans Pelicans
Making just 1.9 million on an expiring deal, Marshall is not going to be a low-cost acquisition. He also duplicates some of what Sam Hauser does, but he is legitimately good enough to see the floor in the postseason.
John Konchar - Memphis Grizzlies
A defensive specialist wing who rebounds well for his position, some of Konchar’s appeal is that he is only making $2.4 million this season, but jumps to $6.5 million next season with two seasons at that level beyond next.
Kris Dunn - Utah Jazz
A hard-nosed New Englander on the defensive end, Dunn has long been a favorite among Boston fans as a potential addition. Shooting over 40% from deep this season on an expiring deal, he might be pried loose from the Jazz.
Dario Saric - Golden State Warriors
Saric doesn’t make much sense to a flailing Warriors organization unless they are postseason-bound, and with the Dubs’ currently outside the top 10 in the West, the sharpshooting big could be available and a good fit in Boston.
Saddiq Bey - Atlanta Hawks
Maybe the least likely to move (or at least the costliest), Bey has some upside, even after disappointing a bit from early expectations. Able to defend and rebound with a 3-point shot that has been solid in past seasons, if the Celtics can pry him free from the Hawks’ potential cash crunch, they should.
