Otto Porter Jr. Finally Receives Championship Ring From Warriors After Two-Year Delay

The Toronto Raptors made the trip out to the Chase Center on Sunday night for a matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

The weekend battle marked the first time Raptors forward Otto Porter Jr. returned to the Bay since he won a championship with the Warriors back in 2022.

As such, Golden State presented the 30-year-old with a much-delayed championship ring ahead of Sunday’s tilt in a wholesome moment at center court.

Stephen Curry greeted Porter in the middle of the arena, where he unveiled the championship ring, almost two years after the team’s title run from 2022 when they beat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Porter didn’t seem bothered by the lengthy wait, however, as he had a big grin on his face throughout the entire presentation.

Since leaving the Warriors after the ‘22 season, Porter has spent the past two seasons in Toronto. He only featured in eight games last year, and wasn’t available when the Raptors made the trip to the Bay.

Rather than mail the ring to Porter, the Warriors decided to hold onto it until he returned to the Chase Center, even if it meant the process took a little longer.

Porter averaged 19.5 minutes per game during Golden State’s championship run in ‘22, providing 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per night.
