Oti Mabuse is 'too busy' for Strictly Come Dancing after being offered jobs in the US

Oti Mabuse was reportedly "far too busy" for Strictly Come Dancing and has her sights set on taking America by storm.

The professional dancer today broke the news that she was leaving the show after seven years.

She is set to launch herself into super stardom in the US with one fan citing it will be a "big year" for the TV personality.

A source told The Sun : "It was a tough decision but realistically, Oti was too busy for Strictly this year.

"She really wants to focus on her dance 'school' delivering classes she is passionate about to fans.

"Now she has interest from the States with producers asking after her."

Oti, 31, who has been on the show since 2015, shared her sad news in a heartfelt Instagram post.

"Never easy to say goodbye I have been part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time," she wrote.

"Lifting the glitter ball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family and I adore you all forever. Thank you @sarahjamesface@jack.will.g and @jasongilkison for truly believing in me."

She continued: "I’m honestly so grateful to The BBC and will always remember that Strictly and BBC brought me to the UK - which I now call home and I have learnt and grown so much. - Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

"I can’t put in to words how difficult this decision has been, but I have decided not to return for the next series.

"Dance will always be my first love and to everyone, my family especially, friends, strictly fans and judges who have been my support throughout my strictly journey, thank you for being incredible!

"You are irreplaceable in my heart and have made everyday unforgettable! I love you."

The South African native is the only dancer on the show to have won the competition for two consecutive years.

She first lifted the Glitterball Trophy in 2019 with Kelvin Fletcher and then again in 2020 with Bill Bailey.

Oti recently revealed her new job as a panellist on Dancing on Ice.
