It is the film industry’s biggest night — and the most important red carpet of the awards season for the A-list actors putting their most stylish foot forward on the red (yes, it is back to red this year) carpet.
The Academy Awards arrived, and the A-listers dressed to impress. Leading the pack were nominated Wicked duo Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo who went big with their gowns from Schiaparelli and Louis Vuitton, respectively.
Demi Moore, up for best actress for her leading role in The Substance, stunned with all the Hollywood glamour you could wish for, opting for a deep v-neck, silver embellished custom Armani Privé outfit — the same label she wore to win at the Golden Globes in January. She lost out, however, to Anora’s breakout star Mikey Madison, who kept her look classic with a strapless, black and rose-pink Christian Dior gown.
Bringing a shock of yellow to the ceremony was one Timothée Chalamet, who opted for a lurid, Givenchy suit. Joining him on the dapper gent front was Joe Alwyn in custom JW Anderson, Omar Apollo in Valentino, and Jeremy Strong in a soil-shade Loro Piana suit. Andrew Garfield also opted for brown, but a deeper, chocolate Gucci version, while Jeff Goldblum wore a Prada look with a floral, printed shirt and a loud boutonnière.
And while she swerved the red carpet, it was Chalamet’s girlfriend Kylie Jenner who got heads turning inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The reality TV star and beauty mogul certainly made a splash with her front cut-out, black satin and crystal encrusted bralette dress from Miu Miu.
Of course, the most popular accessory on the red carpet this year was a heavy dose of one appetite-suppressing drug or another. As a result, it was figure-squeezing gowns and binding corsets that were de rigueur and will set the 2025 awards apart as the year Hollywood went super slim.
