Oscars 2022: How to watch, what channel it is on and who is nominated

It's that time of year!

We are approaching the most prestigious night in the film industry, the 94th Annual Academy Awards.

After the 2021 Oscars ceremony was delayed due to Covid-19, movie fans across the world are eager to tune in and find out what awards their favourite flick will win.

The Power of the Dog leads the pack with 12 nominations, followed by Dune with 10, and Belfast and West Side Story with seven each.

The star-studded event is taking place this weekend as Hollywood's finest are gearing up to walk the red carpet.

How can you watch the 2022 Oscars?

The awards ceremony begins at 8pm in the United States, so UK viewers will need to stay up late if they want to watch live.

The event starts at 1am UK time in the early hours of Monday 28th March.

The Oscars will be available to watch live on Sky Cinema Oscars in the UK.

There is likely to be a highlights reel on Sky Max shortly afterwards.

You will need a SkyTV subscription to be able to watch, which can be signed up to here.

Alternatively, a NOW TV package can be purchased.

A NOW Sky Cinema Pass will be required to watch the ceremony.

Who is hosting?

The Academy confirmed that the comedy trio of Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes will be hosting the ceremony.

Oscars producer Will Packer said: “This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles.

“I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well. Many surprises in store! Expect the unexpected!"

Who is presenting the awards at the Oscars 2022?

Alongside the three hosts, the Oscars 2022 will feature a range of different stars presenting various awards.

Those on presenting duties include Lily James, Shawn Mendes, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kevin Costner, John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lupita Nyong'o, Woody Harrelson and Tyler Perry.

Halle Bailey, Elliot Page, Simu Liu, Rami Malek, and Lady Gaga will also grace the stage as well as 2021 winners Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Kaluuya and Youn Yuh-jung.

Who is hosting the Oscars 2022 red carpet show?

Actors Vanessa Hudgens and Terrence J and fashion designer Brandon Maxwell will host the red carpet show at this year’s Oscars.

The red carpet show will also feature a special appearance by DJ MOS.
