It turns out Michelle Yeoh really can be Everything Everywhere All at Once, including being pulled along Melbourne's Swanston Street by a big red tractor on a sunny day in 1984.
You see, on a shelf in Michelle's pool room (if she has one), next to a freshly engraved Academy Award, there may well be another slightly less prestigious prize.
Before she appeared on Hollywood's radar, Yeoh, who yesterday won the Best Actress Oscar, was crowned Miss Moomba International almost 40 years ago.
Yeoh was Malaysia's entrant in the 1983 Miss World contest, finishing 18th out of 72 contestants.
Talking to UK talk show host Graham Norton earlier this year, Yeoh said her mother had initially prompted her to enter her first pageant.
"She actually signed the form," she said.
"I did it to shut her up."
Riding the crest of the beauty pageant wave, the 21-year-old then swept through the field at Moomba's international beauty quest, leaving Miss Tahiti and Miss Chile in her wake.
The real prize was getting to ride on the back of a float up Melbourne's main drag, just ahead of some people dressed as giant pieces of fruit.
You don't get that at the Oscars do you?
An article in The Straits Times even showed Yeoh clutching the award she won at Moomba, saying she was "glowing with pride over the achievement".
It said she had to talk for more than 30 minutes about her country as part of the competition.
Vision of the parade was unearthed in the ABC archives, and Yeoh can be seen waving to the crowd from the top of a float.
Australian Rules footballer Kevin Bartlett was that year's King of Moomba and Kim Kermonde was the Queen, but we now know who the real star was.
At yesterday's awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Yeoh became the first woman of Asian descent to win the Best Leading Actress award.
"For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is the beacon of hope and possibilities," she said.
"This is proof that dream big and dreams do come true.
"And ladies don't let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime."
