Oscar Gloukh a Rangers 'transfer target' but Maccabi Tel Aviv won't budge over £8m price tag

Oscar Gloukh is on Rangers ' transfer radar as scouts from Ibrox watched the Israeli wonderkid in action against England Under-19s on Thursday night. But they will have to cough up the cash to land the 18-year-old after Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Vladimir Ivic placed an £8m price tag on his head.

The youngster is one of his county's brightest prospects and has been a key part of the side that booked their place in the Under-19 European Championship, where they will face England tonight. Scouts from Gio van Bronckhorst 's team watched Gloukh in the semi-final win over France in Slovakia according to reports.

Gloukh only made his first-team debut for Maccabi last season and comes very highly-rated in his homeland. However, the Tel Aviv club have made it clear they are in no rush to sell their highly-rated young talent, who only signed a two-year contract earlier this year and they are already trying to persuade him to extend it.

Manager Ivic stated: "We do not want to sell him and we are currently trying to get him to sign a new contract for another four years. He wouldn't be sold unless a team offered £8million for him. The most important thing is that the speculation surrounding his future won't have any impact on him because he's a very level-headed kid."

Attacking midfielder Gloukh has three goals to his name already at club level despite only playing ten games. He has been capped twice by Israel U21s and has two goals and two assists at the Under-19 Euros.

Rangers meanwhile are also chasing striker Antonio Colak as Van Bronckhorst looks to ease the burden on Alfredo Morelos.
